Swiss Army Watches

Since eighteen eighty four the Victorinox Company has developed a reputation for producing precision products and is probably best known for the world famous Original Swiss Army knife line. A competing company Wenger had been selling a competing knife called the Genuine Swiss Army Knife and the Victorinox Company was eventually purchased by Wenger. The famous Swiss Army logo has come to represent quality and craftsmanship on a variety of consumer products including, utility tools, pocket knives, watches and sport shoes.

Victorinox and Wenger were both supplying knives to the Swiss Army that featured stainless steel blades and other components that were resistant to corrosion and could be sharpened to a fine edge. Later knives began to sport a collection of useful tools and implements that were all incorporated into the knife case. The knives were originally sold as the Swiss Officers knife but the U.S. troops began referring the knife as a Swiss Army knife after the knives began to appear after World War Two and the name has been used in many English speaking regions of the world.

The Swiss Army brand of watches has a very short history relative to that of the parent company Wenger and the original Victorinox. The Swiss Army watch brand was introduced in nineteen eighty seven and first appeared on the American market in nineteen eighty nine, quickly becoming one of the best selling watch brands in recent history. The reputation justly earned by the vaunted Swiss Army knife has carried over to the watch brand. Swiss Army watches are known for being stylish and are available at a relatively affordable price. The line includes over two dozen models are of which featured the distinctive and well known Swiss Army logo and are known being well-crafted and durable.
